As we approach Christmas, we want to intentionally slow down and reflect on the greatest gift ever given, the birth of Jesus Christ. Over the next several days, these devotionals will focus on the promises, people, and purpose surrounding His arrival. May this season draw your heart closer to Jesus and remind you of the hope, peace, and joy found in Him.

Today’s Scripture:

“And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn

— Luke 2:7 (NKJV)

Reflection:

Jesus entered the world in the most humble way possible. The Savior of the world was not born in royalty or comfort, but in a stable, laid in a manger. This was no accident, God intentionally chose humility to introduce His Son.

The humble birth of Jesus reveals God’s heart. He meets us where we are. He is not impressed by status or possessions, but by humility and openness of heart. Christmas calls us to slow down, simplify, and make room for Jesus in our lives.

In a season often filled with noise and busyness, the manger reminds us that God’s presence is found in quiet surrender.

Application:

Ask yourself what distractions or pressures might be crowding out time with Jesus this season. Making room for Him often requires intentional simplicity.

Challenge for Today:

Create space today, turn off distractions, pause, and spend intentional time reflecting on Christ’s humility.

Prayer:

Jesus, thank You for coming humbly for my sake. Help me release distractions and pride so I can make room for You in my heart. Teach me to walk in humility and gratitude. Amen.
