Here is today’s daily devotional. Remember to share this Word with you family and friends. God Bless!
Today’s Scripture:
“And praise be to God Most High, who delivered your enemies into your hand.” Then Abram gave him a tenth of everything.
—Genesis 14:20 (NIV)
Reflection:
Genesis 14:20 highlights Abram’s response after a significant victory. With his enemies defeated and the spoils of battle in hand, Abram pauses to acknowledge that the victory was not his alone—it was God who delivered his enemies into his hand. This act of gratitude was immediate and tangible as Abram gave a tenth of everything to Melchizedek, the priest of God Most High.
This verse reminds us of two important truths: first, that every victory in our lives is a gift from God; and second, that gratitude requires action. It’s easy to take credit for our successes or overlook God’s hand in our achievements, but Abram’s response shows us the importance of recognizing God as the source of every blessing and offering back to Him what is already His.
Gratitude is more than a feeling; it’s an act of worship. When we acknowledge God’s provision and power in our lives, we deepen our trust in Him and align our hearts with His purposes. Like Abram, we are called to honor God with the first and best of what we have, knowing that everything we possess comes from Him.
Application:
Reflect on a recent victory or blessing in your life. How can you express gratitude to God for His provision? Pray and consider the tithe to God's house. Love, Serve, Give—to honor Him and to be a blessing to others.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being my provider and deliverer. I acknowledge that every victory in my life comes from You. Help me to live with a heart of gratitude, offering back to You the best of what I have. May my life reflect Your goodness and bring glory to Your name, Jesus Christ my Lord. Amen.
Challenge for Today:
Take a moment to identify one way you can tangibly express gratitude to God today. It could be through an offering of service, financial support or loving kindness towards someone in need. Always taking time to give God gratitude throughout the day. Let your gratitude overflow into action.
