Today’s Scripture:
“The ark of the Lord remained in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite for three months, and the Lord blessed him and his entire household.”
—2 Samuel 6:11 (NIV)
Reflection:
This verse highlights the incredible blessings that come from the presence of God. The ark of the Lord, representing God’s presence and power, stayed in the house of Obed-Edom for three months, and during that time, his household experienced God’s abundant favor.
Obed-Edom’s story reminds us that when we make room for God in our lives, His blessings follow. His presence brings peace, provision, and transformation—not just for us, but for those around us. However, inviting God into our lives requires intentionality. Like Obed-Edom, we must be willing to host His presence and honor Him in our daily lives.
This verse also challenges us to reflect on how we are creating space for God in our homes, hearts, and routines. Are we living in a way that welcomes His presence and allows His blessings to flow? When we do, we experience the fullness of life that only He can provide.
Application:
Consider how you can intentionally invite God’s presence into your daily life. Are there areas where you need to make more space for Him? Reflect on the impact His presence could have on your household and relationships.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the blessings that come from Your presence. Teach me to honor You in every area of my life and to create space for You to dwell in my heart and home. May Your presence bring peace, joy, and transformation to my life and those around me. Amen.
Challenge for Today:
Set aside intentional time today to welcome God’s presence into your life—whether through prayer, worship, or reading His Word. Invite Him to bless your household and guide your steps.
