Today’s Scripture:
“And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”
—Colossians 3:17 (NKJV)
Here is our Reflection:
It’s easy to separate our lives into categories: work, family, church, responsibilities, hobbies, and personal goals. But this verse reminds us that following Jesus is not just something we do during certain moments of the week. It is meant to shape everything we do.
Paul writes, “Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus.”
That means our faith should influence:
The words we speak
The way we treat others
How we work
How we respond under pressure
The attitude we carry each day
God cares not only about the big spiritual moments but also about the ordinary parts of life. Even small actions become meaningful when they are done for His glory.
When we live with this mindset, everyday tasks take on new purpose. A kind conversation, honest work, serving your family, encouraging a friend, or showing patience in difficulty can all become acts of worship when done in the name of Jesus.
This verse also calls us to live with gratitude.
Too often, we rush through life focused on what’s missing or what’s difficult. But gratitude changes our perspective. It reminds us that every good thing we have comes from God, and it keeps our hearts grounded in humility and joy.
Living for Jesus is not just about avoiding wrong—it’s about intentionally reflecting Him in everything we say and do.
And when we do, our lives become a testimony to those around us.
Application:
Take a moment today to evaluate your attitude in the ordinary moments of life. Are your words, actions, and reactions reflecting Christ?
Ask God to help you live intentionally today, with kindness, integrity, gratitude, and purpose in everything you do.
Prayer for today:
Father,
Thank You for being present in every part of my life. Help me to honor You not only in big moments but also in the small, everyday things. Let my words and actions reflect Your love and truth. Teach me to live with gratitude and to do everything in a way that brings glory to Jesus. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Challenge for Today:
Choose one ordinary task today, whether at work, at home, or in a conversation, and intentionally do it with excellence, gratitude, and a Christ-like attitude.
