As we approach Christmas, we want to intentionally slow down and reflect on the greatest gift ever given, the birth of Jesus Christ. Over the next several days, these devotionals will focus on the promises, people, and purpose surrounding His arrival.
May this season draw your heart closer to Jesus and remind you of the hope, peace, and joy found in Him.
Today’s Scripture:
“For behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.”
— Luke 2:10 (NKJV)
Reflection:
The angels announced Jesus’ birth with a message of joy—not fear, not condemnation, but good news. This joy was not reserved for a select few; it was for all people. The arrival of Jesus brought hope into a broken world and light into darkness.
True joy does not depend on circumstances. It flows from knowing that God has come near, that salvation has arrived, and that hope is alive. Even in difficult seasons, the joy of Christ remains steady and available.
Christmas reminds us that joy is not something we create—it is something we receive through Jesus.
Application:
Reflect on what may be stealing your joy. Invite God to renew your joy through remembering His goodness and faithfulness.
Challenge for Today:
Choose to spread joy today, through a kind word, encouragement, or act of generosity.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the joy that comes from knowing You. Restore my joy where it has faded and help me share it freely with others. Amen.
