Today’s Scripture

“This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
Psalm 118:24

Reflection

Every new day is a gift from God.

It is easy to wake up and immediately think about everything that needs to be done, the problems we are facing, or the things that aren’t going the way we hoped. But Psalm 118:24 reminds us to pause and recognize something simple yet powerful: God made this day.

That means we don’t have to wait for everything to be perfect before we choose gratitude.

We can rejoice because God is faithful. We can be thankful because His mercy is new every morning. We can find joy even in difficult circumstances because our joy isn’t ultimately dependent on what happens around us—it is rooted in who God is.

Gratitude changes the way we see our lives. When we intentionally look for God’s blessings, we begin to notice things we may have overlooked: a beautiful sunrise, a conversation with someone we love, another opportunity to serve, the strength to keep going, or simply the gift of another day.

Today, choose to look for God’s goodness.

Application

Start your day by intentionally thanking God for three things.

They don’t have to be big. In fact, some of the greatest blessings are found in the ordinary moments we often take for granted.

When something frustrating happens today, pause before reacting and ask yourself:

“What can I thank God for in this moment?”

This doesn’t mean ignoring your struggles. It means choosing to remember that your circumstances don’t change God’s faithfulness.

Let gratitude shape your attitude, your words, and the way you treat the people around you today.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of this new day. Every sunrise is another reminder of Your faithfulness, mercy, and unfailing love.

Help me to begin today with a heart full of gratitude, choosing joy regardless of my circumstances. Open my eyes to the blessings that surround me and teach me to appreciate both the big and the small gifts You provide.

May my attitude reflect thankfulness, and may my life bring glory to Your name.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Challenge for Today

Find three things to thank God for today, and share one of them with someone else.

Let your gratitude become an encouragement to someone who may need a reminder that God is still good and still faithful.
