Today’s Scripture

“Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; ‘For Yah, the Lord, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation.’”
— Isaiah 12:2 (NKJV)

Reflection

Fear has a way of making problems appear larger than they really are. It whispers that we’re alone, that we’re not strong enough, or that the future is uncertain. Yet Isaiah reminds us of an unchanging truth: our confidence is not found in our own strength but in God’s presence.

Notice the order of the verse. Isaiah doesn’t say, “I won’t be afraid because life is easy.” He says, “God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid.” Trust comes first. Fear loses its grip when we remember who God is.

God is not simply someone who gives strength—He is our strength. He doesn’t just offer a song during the good times—He becomes our song even in the valleys. When we keep our eyes fixed on Him instead of our circumstances, our perspective begins to change. The storm may still be there, but so is the Savior who walks with us through it.

Whatever you’re facing today—a difficult decision, uncertainty about the future, financial pressure, health concerns, or emotional burdens—you don’t have to face it alone. The same God who carried His people throughout Scripture is faithfully carrying you today.

Take a deep breath and remember this simple truth: God has never stopped being faithful, and He won’t start today.

Application

Today, choose trust over fear.

When anxious thoughts begin to fill your mind, pause before letting them take root. Instead, repeat Isaiah 12:2 aloud. Let God’s promises become louder than your worries.

Ask yourself:

  • What fear am I holding onto today?

  • Have I been focusing more on my problem than on God’s power?

  • How can I intentionally trust God with this situation today?

Trust isn’t pretending everything is perfect. It’s believing that God is present, powerful, and working even when you can’t yet see the outcome.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for being my strength and my salvation. When fear tries to take hold of my heart, remind me that You are greater than every obstacle I face. Help me choose faith over fear and trust over worry.

Fill my heart with songs of praise as I remember Your faithfulness throughout my life. Let Your strength carry me through every challenge and Your love give me courage for each new day.

No matter what lies ahead, I choose to place my confidence in You. Thank You for never leaving me, never forsaking me, and always being my refuge.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Challenge for Today

Whenever you begin to feel anxious today, stop and say this out loud:

“The Lord is my strength and my salvation. I will trust and not be afraid.”

Then thank God for one specific way He has been faithful in your life. Gratitude has a way of strengthening faith and silencing fear
