“You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”

Many people spend their lives searching for joy in success, possessions, relationships, or achievements. While those things can bring happiness for a season, they were never meant to satisfy the deepest longing of our hearts.

David reminds us in Psalm 16 that true joy is found in one place—God’s presence. When we walk closely with the Lord, He gives us direction for the path ahead, peace in uncertain moments, and a joy that isn’t dependent on our circumstances.

God doesn’t promise a life without challenges, but He does promise that we never have to face them alone. His presence becomes our strength when we are weak, our comfort when we are hurting, and our guide when we don’t know what to do next.

The greatest blessing God offers isn’t simply what He gives us—it’s Himself. As we spend time with Him through prayer, His Word, and quiet moments of trust, our hearts begin to experience the fullness of joy that only He can provide.

Today, remember that you don’t have to chase happiness. Instead, seek the One who is the source of lasting joy.

Take a few moments today to intentionally pause and spend time in God’s presence. Turn off the distractions, open your Bible, pray honestly, and simply be with Him. As you make Him your priority, ask Him to guide your steps and fill your heart with His peace and joy.

Father,

Thank You that one of Your greatest blessings is Your presence. No earthly possession can compare to the joy of walking with You. Lead me on the path You have prepared for me, and help me remain close to You each day. Fill my heart with lasting joy that is rooted in Your love rather than my circumstances. May I find my greatest blessing in knowing You more deeply.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
