As we approach Christmas, we want to intentionally slow down and reflect on the greatest gift ever given, the birth of Jesus Christ. Over the next several days, these devotionals will focus on the promises, people, and purpose surrounding His arrival.

May this season draw your heart closer to Jesus and remind you of the hope, peace, and joy found in Him.

Today’s Scripture:

“And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger.”

— Luke 2:16 (NKJV)

Reflection:

The shepherds did not delay when they heard the good news. They responded immediately and went to see Jesus for themselves. Their response shows us that encountering Christ should move us to action, worship, and testimony.

After seeing Jesus, the shepherds shared what they had experienced. Their lives were changed by a single encounter with the Savior. God still invites us to respond in the same way, by seeking Him earnestly and sharing His work in our lives.

Application:

Consider how you typically respond when God speaks to your heart. Are you quick to obey, or do you hesitate?

Challenge for Today:

Act on something God has already placed on your heart, no delay, no excuses.

Prayer:

Lord, give me a heart like the shepherds, eager to seek You and quick to respond. Help me boldly share what You’ve done in my life. Amen.
